jacked from Gamespot:

RUMOR #9: Pokémon causes cancer.

Source: The Web site for the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center.

The official story: Curiously, Nintendo's reps were all out of the office on Friday. (Suffering from Pikachu poisoning, perhaps?)

What we heard: Few things provoke as severe a love/hate reaction as Pokémon games. That said, even the most rabid Pikachu-basher wouldn't accuse the franchise of being carcinogenic (though the TV show based on the games was accused of causing seizures). However, in the purest technical sense, "Pokemon" does cause cancer. That's because "Pokemon" is also the name of a cancer-causing gene that was recently discovered. In a study published in the January 20 issue of Nature, researchers at the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer outline how they isolated the POK Erythroid Myeloid Ontogenic factor--or POKEMON, for short. What's next? A leukemia gene called Dragon Ball Z? A terminal case of Yu-Gi-Oh! Syndrome?

Bogus or not bogus?: Not bogus, but totally hilarious.

after dark...the pandas stalk
nightmare creatures with black hearts
ravenous teeth that glow in the dark
feasting on bums that sleep in the park

the pandas are coming
so hide under your beds
the pandas are coming
they'll rip your butt to shreds

the panda is indeed the most mysterious of all creatures
shrouded in the enigma of its black and white coat
what kind of camoflauge is this? black and white?
hiding in an oreo factory? could be...
that's just another chapter in the omnisaga of the panda

the pandas are coming
so, rip off your head
the pandas are coming
on a rampage of the dead

like the shark, the panda has millions of teeth
which it uses like a hacksaw to cut through bone, candy and fences
the chinese believe if you find a discarded panda tooth
you have the power to summon godzilla

i'm drunk on panda mystery

(lemme know if you want this song :P)

never mind, i WILL say it. told you so :P haha. Eagles and the Patriots...w00t. i'll predict the score next week, but i'm still sticking with the Pats to win it all. don't be stubborn like i was up until this year...the pats are for real.

i got cherry chapstick the other day...when i put it on, it reminded me of my youth when i called it "men's lipstick." i don't like the taste of it now though :
here's to a better sleeping schedule and less classes skipped this semester!

well tonight was the last meeting for our college men's small group...*sniff* i left my class an hour early and met up with them at cafe east. it wasn't technically a meeting since we didn't do any bible study or anything, but we did share and pray together. man that small group was such a blessing to me this past year. thanks to all you guys for making me feel welcomed and loved. and thanks to God for using SG to teach me to be a man for Him! hopefully my new intergenerational small group will be just as awesome

this is kinda surprising, but it feels GOOD to be back in school. i love having structure again. i love coming home and feeling like i've accomplished something. makes me appreciate my free time a lot more too. i also feel compelled to be a hard worker this year...but we'll see how long all of this lasts :P i think i'll get to bed early tonight so...that is all for today. stay cool, people
